Psalms 4:8 NKJV

“I will both lie down in peace, and sleep;

For You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.”

Today marks the beginning of the summer – summer solstice to be exact. Summer solstice is known as the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere. On this day I decided to launch my new site!

It was important for me to relaunch my website today because having a chronic condition can make you feel like every day in the world is the longest. The anticipation for the endo pain to end, to stop bleeding, hoping and praying that one day you won’t have to deal with this, or more importantly pass this terrible disease of endometriosis to your children continues to go through ones’ mind. I realize now more than ever that you have to take the good with the bad. This time around I’ve chosen the good.

Many people may not know that the summer solstice can be a significant point in one’s life. Because it is the longest day of the year, we’re closest to the sun. It is during this time that we should feel the most energized. And on today, I actually do! I find that when we focus on what is not going right, we lose sight of other amazing things that are. I’ve pushed back redoing my website for so long from my own personal fear. When I thought on the things that bring me joy, I realized that one of them was my blog. It’s therapeutic for me to get my thoughts out.

If you have not done so already, find ways that you can be revitalized, rejuvenated, and reveal what’s next for you. For so long I focused on endometriosis and fertility. In hindsight, I still do – it’s hard not to. But during this solstice I’ve make a conscious decision to shift my focus onto what matters in life – happiness.

During the relaunch of my website, my prayer is that you too see the energy, time, and more importantly love that this site will bring you. What things in your life will you find solstice in?
